A daily pool puzzle.

Clear seven colored balls, then the black, with as little cue-ball travel as possible. A new rack every day, harder as the week goes on.

Runs in your browser. No account needed. Unfinished attempts resume automatically.

The white line previews the cue ball’s path before you shoot.

How to play

  1. Choose a ball and pocket

Tap a colored ball, then a numbered pocket. Clear the seven colors in any order. Black stays locked until they’re all gone. Striped balls are obstacles: you can’t aim at them, and you never need to clear them.

  2. Set speed and spin

Use the speed slider and the cue-ball controls to adjust spin. The white preview shows the predicted cue-ball path, so you can plan the travel before you shoot.

  3. Shoot and plan the next one

Tap Shoot. If there’s no verified clean pot, adjust the shot or confirm Shoot with no clean pot. If you have a trick shot, the game also looks for a bank, combo, kick or carom at your speed and spin, and offers it if it finds one. Watch the shot play out or skip straight to the result.

Scoring

Example score
Cue-ball travel
6.84 m
Scratches (1 × 1 m)
+1.00 m
Total
7.84 m

Lower is better.

What counts

Your score is the total distance the cue ball travels across the table, plus scratch penalties. Misses still add travel. Every newly pocketed solid counts, including incidental pots. Potting a striped ball is free.

A scratch adds 1 metre and respots the cue ball. The respot itself doesn’t count as travel.

Potting the black

Black must fall on a shot that began with all seven solids cleared. Potting the last colored ball and black on the same shot loses, as does potting black with a scratch.

Frequently asked questions

Why is today’s puzzle harder?

Puzzles get harder through the week. Monday is an open table. Each day after adds striped obstacles, stripes blocking the easy shots and tight clusters, up to Sunday, the toughest. The dots beside the date show the day’s level, from one to seven.

What are trick shots?

When there’s no clean pot, the game can find a trick shot for you: a bank, combo, kick or carom at the speed and spin you set. One it finds always pots. You get one a week, from Monday, and it doesn’t carry over. Every 7 days of streak earns another, and you can hold up to 3. The ✨ beside the date shows how many you have.

When does my attempt start?

You get one attempt per local calendar day. It starts with your first successfully saved shot. Opening the app or adjusting your shot controls doesn’t start it.

Can I come back to an unfinished puzzle?

Yes. Your unfinished attempt resumes first, even after midnight or several days away. Each shot’s result is saved before playback, so closing the app during a shot won’t count it twice.

When can I play the next puzzle?

A completed current-day attempt stays locked until your device’s local midnight. Finish an older attempt and you can choose Play today’s puzzle. An untouched puzzle updates when the local date changes.

Does everyone get the same rack?

Players on the same local calendar date get the same starting rack in the same app build. The game uses your device’s local date, so friends in another time zone may be playing a different day.

Do I need an account?

No. Progress stays in the browser profile you play in, with no accounts or cross-device sync. See Privacy for how local saves work.

Can I replay or browse past puzzles?

Yes. Past puzzles, from Rules or the result card, shows every day since October 26 with your result. Replay plays a past rack again off the record, so nothing counts toward stats, streaks or groups. Best run plays back the puzzle’s lowest winning score once its board closes, about a day and a half later.

How do I send feedback or report a bug?

In the game, open Rules and choose Send feedback, or use Send feedback on the result card. You can also open the feedback form directly. Add an email address if you’d like a reply. See Privacy for what is sent.
